ABOUT Allyson

Allyson Vandervaate, a Makeup Artist based in Calgary, Alberta, discovered her true calling in Makeup Artistry driven by her passion for Art & Design. Graduating from Blanche Macdonald in 2018, Allyson previously immersed herself in the Graphic Design program at the Alberta University of Art & Design, honing her skills in design fundamentals and colour theory. Her journey has led her to collaborate with industry luminaries, including Oscar and Emmy award-winning makeup artists, celebrity makeup artists, and renowned makeup brands across social media platforms.

Currently, she thrives in roles with Make Up For Ever and Drunk Elephant, traversing different retail locations to educate, train, share expertise, and host events for these prominent brands.

Allyson boasts extensive experience in TV & Film makeup, contributing her skills to productions for Hallmark, Netflix, Disney, and HBO's "The Last of Us," a feat seldom achieved. Beyond her film work, Allyson consistently caters to clients for weddings, special events, and makeup lessons, accumulating over +100s appointments.
